I am a 1999 graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago-Fine Arts.  I also have a graphic arts degree from Triton College, River Grove, IL, 1985.  However my actual art involvement began when I was six.  My Aunt Mimi, an oil painter, let me mix colors for her on a regular basis.  By the time I was eleven, I could mix up any color under the sun.  I knew then that I was headed for a long love affair with PAINT!

Early studies also include focused art workshops, and private art lessons.  Throughout the years I have won numerous awards, and have had works in many different art galleries.  I am a member of The Chicago Artists' Coalition, The Michigan Art Guild, The West Suburban Art League, and The Oak Park Art League.

I am involved with both the fine arts and the commercial art fields.  Several West Coast music jazz groups have used my work for their CD music covers.  The most gratifying part of art comes to me when I teach art to 1st-4th grade at Bethlehem Lutheran Elementary School, River Grove, on a semi-regular basis.  Recently I designed a large stained glass window for Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Currently I am creating in three different areas of focus which are:  dream/interiors, computer, and jazz interpretations.  Although the three are unrelated topics, they all contain a bit of mystery surprise, romance, humor, and oddly enough, frenzy.  These elements are used as a glue to cement all of the works together.  This link is present in each work regardless of the visual style used.  Each presentation is another language; like someone speaking English, or someone else speaking  French.  Although they all have my signature, their voice is individual.

Working processes include the use of acrylic, watercolor, ink, pencil, and sometimes collage.  Supports for the artwork are board, canvas or paper, painted direct or printed by an etching press.  I use sketches, but more often I just play and paint spontaneously with music!

Regardless of subject matter, art should effect a reaction in people, good or bad.  No reaction makes a blank and no involvement occurs.  Viewers relate to the things I create.  I'm often told "Its entertainment for my mind and soul" and that they can almost "hear the music!"
